BRG Commercial Curtain Wall Project at Acadiana Crime Lab in New Iberia, LA

Dec 18, 2025 | Commercial, Projects

Big River Glass completed a large-scale commercial glazing project earlier in 2025 in New Iberia, Louisiana, working alongside Lemoine Construction on the new Acadiana Crime Lab facility.

This project primarily featured aluminum curtain wall systems – one of the most recognizable and architecturally impactful glazing systems used in commercial construction today.

Curtain wall is a stick-built architectural system comprised of aluminum framing and glass. While it can span multiple stories and “hang” from a building’s structural steel, it is non-load bearing. Its purpose is to create a durable, weather-resistant exterior envelope while delivering a clean, modern aesthetic. Curtain wall systems can also be integrated into conventional wood or metal-framed construction, similar to storefront systems.

If you’ve seen the oversized glass assemblies featured in our project photos – those are typically curtain wall installations.

At BRG, curtain wall, storefront systems, and architectural windows all fall within our commercial glazing scope. These are systems we regularly furnish and install across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.

The Acadiana Crime Lab project was a strong example of BRG’s commercial capabilities – precise execution, large-scale aluminum framing, and high-performance glazing delivered on schedule. We’re proud of the final result and our continued partnership with leading general contractors like Lemoine Construction.
